Scholarships


Many students work hard to earn high grades and dream of attending college one day. Unfortunately, many students and families will not be able to afford their college education. To help them reach their full potential and achieve their dream of attending college, the Mu Boulé Scholars Program confers monetary awards upon deserving high school graduates.

Scholars Program for Math & Science Scholarship

The program aims to raise the level of educational expectations and performance of students by celebrating and rewarding their academic excellence from elementary school to college, and graduate and professional schools.  The scholarships are awarded annually on a competitive basis, preferrably to African-American male New Jersey high school seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher, who exhibit a strong track record of school and community leadership. Students must be matriculating to accredited colleges or universities, and major in a math or science discipline. The recipient will receive an award of $2,500.00 per year for four years, for a total of $10,000.

Life Gets Better Scholarship

Funded by the PSEG Foundation, this scholarship aims to provide financial and motivational support to budding achievers striving to reach their goal of attending college and obtaining the skills needed to compete in the professional world. The scholarships are awarded annually on a competitive basis, preferrably to African-American male New Jersey high school seniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, who have overcome obstacles and shown continuous educational improvement. The one-time scholarship award will be distributed to 18 students. Eight (8) recipients will receive $1,000 and ten (10) recipients will recieve $500 scholarships.

 

Criteria & Eligibility

The Mu Boule Foundation invites you to apply for the Scholars Program Math & Sciences Scholarship or the Life Gets Better Scholarship to help start you on the road to achieving your educational and career goals. The scholarships are awarded annually on a competitive basis preferrably to African-American male New Jersey high school seniors. Students meeting the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply. Apply today for your chance to receive funding to support your education.

Qualifications

  • The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6. - Scholars Program for Math & Science Scholarship
  • The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8. - Life Gets Better Scholarship

Qualifications for Both Scholarships
  • Be a matriculating full-time student in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university.
  • Preferrably be an African American male high school senior in northern or central New Jersey.
  • Complete and submit the required essay and application postmarked by due date.
  • Provide a copy of schedule and current bill.
